Q. Do you only shoot in black and white?
A. It is my preferred medium. I especially love high contrast. Edits are never the same within the dsame shoot/session. However, I will but only occasionally shoot color.
Q. How long have you been a photographer?
A. A very very long time. Actually, my father had a dark room BEFORE digital was even close to being invented!
I have been internationally published not only as a photographer but as a graphic designer.
Q. I am not really a model yet but I am considering it as a career. Will you photograph me?
A. Of course, I will. I love helping out guys starting out and helping them start build a portfolio.
Keep in mind that everyone starts out new and inexperienced
Q. Do you only shoot professional models or dancers?
A. No. I will shoot models and/or dancers just starting out. Like I said above, I love helping out guys starting out and helping them start build a portfolio.
Q. I love your work but do I have to pose nude?
A. Absolutely not! I photograph models they way they request when booking. If a model wants to do a dance, fashion or fitness shoot, if that's what they want, I will definitely oblige. Please note that most models actually request a nude shoot when they inquire about booking a session.
Q. Why do you require Legal ID?
A. Quite simply, it is a legal matter. All models of all ages MUST show and send me proof of age when official starting serious negations about booking a session.
Q. I am new and just starting out. What does TFP mean?
A. TFP basically means "Trade/Trade for Photos (Print)." This means, I photograph you for free. You pose for free. It is a standard in the industry and the best way for a model to build his portfolio while gaining much needed experience.
I give you you content/images to uses how you wish but MUST be credited for my work. I own ALL images and can publish when and where I wish. It is all stated in my Model Release Form.
Q. When shooting TFP’s, do you require a model to do nudes?
A. Absolutely not. I may ask a model to remove his shirt and ONLY if the model is comfortable with it. I NEVER - EVER push a model beyond his comfort zone!
Q. What is your age limits and other requirements?
A. No age requirements if the model is paying for a shoot. For TFP's, I do want fit looking models, no matter the age. Please note, if a model is requesting an implied or nude shoot, he must be 18 years of age or over. Legal ID is ALWAYS required BEFORE a shoot begins!
Q. I noticed that you are based in Southeast Florida. How far will you travel for a shoot?
A. In all honesty it depends on the location. I am close to Miami and Ft. Lauderdale but I have traveled to Central Florida (conveniently between Tampa and Orlando). I have also shot in Naples, Florida, Daytona Beach and other locations throughout the State.
Q. What is a Model Release Form and do I have to sign one?
A. Among other things, a Model Release Form is legal proof that model has consented to be photographed. It also lays out the terms of the shoot and other requirements. It is a legal and binding document. It is very important that you read and understand it.
Q. After a shoot and I don't either like or want my photos published on your various platforms will to take them down?
A. When a model signs a the Model Release Form which is a legally binding document, I absolutely own the photos. I can and will publish images where and when I want.
This is very important! It is absolutely important to think first before standing in front a my (or any photographer's) lens. I have and will always say that I never push a model beyond his comfort zone.
Q. I noticed a Save the Date/Time Fee. What does that mean?
A. Many times models schedule and either don't show up or cancel at the last minute. This by the way, is one of the most unprofessional and reputation damaging thins a models can do!
The Date/Time Fee helps helps fund expenses I have incurred in cases when I traveled to a location and secured a hotel suite and set up all my gear for studio-style shoot.
Q. I love my dog. Will you do shoots which includes animals?
A. Of course, but only if their Model/Owners are in the images.
Q. Will you shoot studio-style?
A. I travel with a backdrop and lighting. So, I can shoot indoors and outdoor, as well.
Q. Will you shoot studio-style?
A. I travel with a backdrop and lighting. So, I can shoot indoors and outdoor, as well.
Q. Someone had told me you only shoot outdoors in the later afternoon. Why?
A. I prefer the late afternoon sun, the Golden Light. It's a softer light. However, if shoot in in wooded/shaded area, time doesn't really matter. Also, those who know me knows that I am NOT a morning person, anyway.
Q. Can I bring a guest to my photoshoot with you?
A. No! Absolutely NOT! "Guests" are a complete distraction to a model, AND ME!
Q. I am a male dancer. Do you do dance shoots?
A. Yes. I love shooting dancers!
Q. Do I have to have a specific sexual orientation for a photoshoot with you?
A. A model's sexuality should NEVER EVER come into play when shooting with a photographer. Personally, it's not my business how a models lives his life
...IT'S THAT SIMPLE!
Q. In the movies, I see scenes where music is played during a shoot. Do you play music during a shoot?
A. I do not supply music during a shoot. However, if a model wants music, he must supply it himself. However, I do not like Rap during a session. Any music must be played quietly as background!
Q. Do you only photograph people?
A. No. I have done commercial jobs without a single human in sight!
I have been asked to photograph pets. I will not, it's not my thing.
Q. What are your fees?
A. Honestly, it depends on location, travel time and of course, the length of the shoot which is a two hour minimum. Since I am semi-retired, I mainly do TFP shoots. I enjoy helping new models build their portfolios.
Q. Do you shoot weddings?
A. Never, ever!
Q. If you contact a model on from ob of your your Social Media platforms, are you expecting them to pay?
A. NO. If I contact a model, I just want to photograph them. I am semi-retired. I shoot who I want, when I want, and how I want. I never try "sell" my services. I love the art.
I especially want new models to gain experience and build their portfolios.
